Hillsboro, Ore. — A TriMet bus driver was arrested Friday night for DUII but police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says deputies in serving the City of Cornelius responded after two reports of a TriMet bus swerving on SW Baseline Road.  Another report said the bus swerved so far out of its lane that it forced a driver in the next lane out of their lane.

The bus driver, 46-year-old Vanessa Krinker, was pulled over by deputies at SE maple Street and 10th Street in Hillsboro.  She was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving.  Deputies say the bus was “Out Of Service” and Krinker was the only person on the bus.

Investigators say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the case.

The investigation is continuing while toxicology tests are completed and video evidence is gathered.

TriMet says it is starting an internal investigation.
