Just before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, TriMet announced that due to ice accumulating on overhead lines and other wintry conditions they were once again suspending MAX service. The Blue Line was the only one running at the time of the shutdown.

TriMet advised that riders would have to expect lengthy delays due to a limited number of shuttle buses to replace trains along the entire 33-mile Blue Line, while also continuing to service all other MAX lines.

TriMet officials notes that wind, freezing rain, and temperatures hovering around freezing were forecast to continue into Friday morning, but they did not say if MAX trains would be running on Friday.
