The Jonas Brothers are back following a six-year hiatus, and they’re marking the reunion with a week-long takeover of CBS’ The Late Late Show.

Joe, Nick and Kevin kicked off the residency on Monday by chatting with host James Corden about their decision to reunite after all these years, which, according to Nick, was sparked by their upcoming Amazon Prime Video documentary.

“It was gonna be a story about where we are today, and that was separate lives, doing separate things — Joe with DNCE and me with my solo stuff, Nick explains. “During that time we started to realize there’s a magic that we felt like we were missing. So the process was basically just, ‘Why don’t we give this another shot?’ We started playing a little music together and realized right away this is where we’re meant to be in our lives at this moment.”

The brothers christened the reunion with a live performance over the weekend. How did it feel?

Says Nick, “ We spent a year basically doing therapy, kind of working through some things…and so I was so paranoid for the first two or three songs, that [Joe and Kevin] were gonna be mad at me after this, that I was like not able to enjoy it. And then I sort of…looked at them and said, ‘This is amazing.’”

Other topics included some dos and don’ts that Joe, who’ll be tying the knot with Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner sometime this summer, picked up from watching his brothers go through the process.

“All 18 of Nicks were amazing,” he joked, referring to Nick and his bride Priyanka Chopra’s multiple ceremonies. “One and done,” he added. Kevin, who got hitched during a snowstorm, taught him not to get married in December.
