Gresham, Ore. — Authorities are looking into what caused a small plane to crash in Southeast Gresham. Witnesses could see the low-flying plane struggling in the sky around 6pm last night just before it went down in a field near Southeast 182nd and Richey Road. Both men inside the plane were alert and made it out on their own. One of them was airlifted to the hospital, and the other was taken by ambulance. Gresham Fire says both men will be okay.

Gresham Mayor Shane Bemis went to the scene and provided a video update via Twitter.

The condition of the two people on board have not been released by Gresham Fire said they were both alert and talking with rescuers.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
