Landslide Closes Historic Columbia River Highway

CORBETT, Ore. — The Historic Columbia River Highway is closed between Multnomah Falls and the Angel’s Rest trailhead until at least Tuesday afternoon following a landslide that occurred on January 28th.

The highway has been closed off and on for repairs and clean-up.  Heavy equipment was brought in on Monday and crews with the Oregon Department of Transportation discovered extensive damage to a culvert.

Cont: We have everything cleaned out and prepped, and we’re expecting the new pieces tomorrow morning; re-opening by early afternoon. The old highway will remain closed overnight due to the excavation work done in order to prepare the site. #pdxtraffic 2/2 pic.twitter.com/756n4haeyt
