An anonymous customer left a $9,400 tip for the staff of Irma’s Southwest restaurant in Houston on Monday, UPI reports. The customer made the tip with a hand-written note on the receipt which read, “Hold tip to pay your guys over the next few weeks.”

The tip came just hours after Harris County ordered bars and nightclubs to close amid the coronavirus outbreak. While Irma’s plans to stay open as a take-out eatery, some staff may be out of work if there’s not enough demand. The eatery plans to split the tip equally among all the staff, about $300 each, and also commended the move as an “act of kindness” on its Facebook page.
