A young meteorologist in Raleigh, North Carolina, has gained quite the following for his accurate weather across the state.

Twenty-two-year-old meteorologist Ethan Clark has been fascinated by weather since he was 10, and taught himself how to predict weather patterns. He started livestreaming weather on Facebook in the 7th grade! And now he gives detailed updates and livestreams during severe weather from his headquarters, aka his bedroom.  Clark runs the Facebook page called North Carolina’s Weather Authority, which has over 603,000 followers who depend on his coverage spanning all 100 counties in his state. He’s gained a rep for his accurate information that some claim have saved lives!

When resident Stacy Huff recalled experiencing a tornado threat, she said, “My husband, me, and the dog all crammed in the closet and listened to his livestream the whole time. It was so comforting to have that voice say, ‘Ok Ethan ay, now you’re out of danger, you can come out.’”  Another resident says Clark saved her parents when Hurricane Helene hit the state.

He was given the state’s highest civilian honors from Governor-elect Josh Stein, and was recently surprised by his fans during a meeting at a local restaurant! And oh yeah, he got to meet Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel! That was a BIG deal as Cantore was such an inspiration to his as a kid, he dressed as Cantore for Halloween one year!
