With 3,045 Fatalities, Italy’s Coronavirus Death Toll Overtakes China’s

On Thursday, Italy’s coronavirus death toll hit 3,045–about 150 more than in China, a country with a population 20 times larger. The AP reports that Italy hit this bleak milestone on the same day that Wuhan, the Chinese city where the virus first emerged three months ago, recorded no new infections, a sign that the communist country’s strict lockdowns helped stop the virus’ spread.

To this end, a Chinese Red Cross team marked the occasion by criticizing Italians’ failure to properly quarantine themselves and take their national lockdown seriously.
