Tigard Police Arrest Suspect Linked To Multiple Burglary And Theft Cases

Tigard, Ore. — Tigard patrol officers made a significant arrest on Sunday morning, taking a man into custody believed to be connected to a minimum of 10 separate burglary and theft investigations.
The arrested individual is identified as 30-year-old Trey Huggett from Gresham. Huggett is currently in custody, facing a total of 26 criminal charges, primarily consisting of felonies. Investigators suspect that he may have ties to additional cases, and further charges could be forthcoming.
On Sunday morning, around 5:00 AM (10/1), Tigard Police received information regarding a stolen vehicle located in the 9300 block of SW Maplewood Drive. Responding officers discovered a man, later identified as Huggett, asleep inside the stolen car. They recognized him as the suspect in several recent burglary and stolen car cases. Huggett was safely apprehended, and during the arrest, officers recovered a stolen handgun, burglary tools, and other stolen property, including approximately 100 car key fobs (see attached photo). Investigators believe that Huggett targeted dealerships and other commercial properties to obtain access to vehicle keys.
Huggett has been transported to the Washington County Jail and is facing a range of charges, including:
Aggravated theft
Felon in possession of a weapon
Attempting to elude an officer (x2)
Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (x6)
Burglary (x5)
Theft (x3)
Identity theft
Forgery
Criminal trespass (x2)
Possession of a stolen vehicle
Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle
Fraudulent use of a credit card
