Theft Suspect Slashes Store Security Guard

PORTLAND, Ore. — A security guard at Fisherman’s Marine and Outdoor store on North Hayden Meadows Drive confronted a theft suspect outside the store on Friday afternoon and was slashed with a knife.

Another employee followed the suspect onto Interstate 5 where he was arrested near Victory Boulevard.  40-year-old Aaron Deatley of Vancouver is charged with robbery and assault.

The victim was treated at the hospital for a serious cut to his forearm.
