GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – A man has been accused of posing as a life coach before kidnapping, raping and assaulting a woman near Portland.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office says Themba Kelley was indicted Tuesday on kidnapping, rape, assault, strangulation and other crimes.

Court documents say Gresham police responded to a motel Aug. 14 on reports that a female was being held captive.

Documents say the victim met Kelley at Laurelhurst Park in Portland where Kelley identified himself as “Themba Spirit” and helped her fix her vehicle. Documents say she went with Kelley after he offered to let her shower and do laundry.

Documents say he then assaulted her and prevented her from leaving.

Prosecutors say Kelley has previously represented himself as a life coach and authorities are seeking help from the public to determine whether there could be additional victims.

It wasn’t known if Kelley has a lawyer.
