Beaverton, Ore. – Just three weeks before students fill the halls, a Beaverton School District employee dies at Westview High School. The worker was painting on a scissor lift yesterday afternoon when the piece of equipment tipped over, sending the worker 20 feet to the ground. When paramedics arrived, the man was still alive, but did die shortly afterwards. Washington County Sheriff Danny DePietro says at this point, he’s unsure if the man worked solely at Westview, or at other locations around the district, and built a report with students. Along with Washington County Sheriff’s, OSHA is also investigating.

Three people on mechanic lifts have now died in the Portland area, over the last week alone.
