TALENT, Ore. – A registered, and out of compliance, sex offender is accused of hiding in the girl’s locker room at Talent Middle School on Monday.
Talent Police Chief Tim Doney tells KXL Curtis Stevenson was caught by a staff member in a bathroom stall, “He came up with a story that he was lost in the school, looking for a school to enroll his son in”.
But, surveillance video tells a different story.
Doney says Stevenson entered the building after a student opened a side door. He was in the locker room for about an hour and a half.
Officers arrived after school administrators asked Stevenson to leave. He was eventually tracked down near Ashland.
Doney says he was found with some incriminating evidence, including an iPhone suspected stolen from the locker room, as well as “drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, female clothing that we believe was potentially stolen from the locker room.”
Stevenson is being held at the Jackson County Jail.
