Portland, Or. – Oregon’s minimum wage workers will see a 50 cents an hour increase next Monday, July 1st. Saul Hubbard at the Bureau of Labor And Industries says under legislation passed in 2016, minimum wage workers will see an annual increase through 2022.

Oregon’s minimum wage is three tier. Portland’s minimum wage goes up to $12.50 next week, Western Oregon’s will go to $11.25 and rural areas will increase to $11.00. Hubbard says Oregon has close to 162,000 minimum wage workers, which is almost 7% of the state’s workforce.

The minimum wage in both California and Washington is $12.00.
