Banks, Ore. – A stretch of Highway 47 was shut down after flames tore through several mobile homes near Buxton. There were no fire hydrants in the area near Hoffman Road, so firefighters from Banks brought water to the scene around 8:30pm last night. Traffic was blocked between Highway 26-and-Vernonia until crews got the upper hand on the fire. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Banks Fire District 13 is involved in a residential fire with multiple mobile homes involved on Hwy 47 at Hoffman Road (Tophill) just north of Stub Stewart State Park. Hwy 47 will be closed to protect firefighter safety. ODOT will be responsible for any detours.
