“Night Mode” May Be Worse for Sleep
According to a new study, the Night Shift and Dark Mode feature on iPhones may not be as safe as developers once thought and might be even worse for sleep. Apple introduced the features a couple years ago to help change the color of the display depending on the time of day with the thinking that if the blue light is reduced it would aid the body to prepare for sleep.
Now, this new study claims that brightness is more important and that the blue color is more important than the yellow tint of Night Mode. When the study was done on a mouse, the yellow color had more of an effect on the mouse’s body clock than the blue colors.
