Neil Diamond has become the latest musician to modify one of his famous songs to encourage people to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. On Sunday, he posted a video message to his social media accounts that started off with some positive words. “I know we’re going through a rough time right now, but I love ya, and I think maybe if we sing together, we’ll feel just a little bit better,” he said, while sitting in front of a roaring fire alongside his adorable dog.

Diamond then strummed an acoustic version of “Sweet Caroline” with some modified lyrics: “Hands / Washing hands / Reaching out / Don’t touch me / I won’t touch you.”

Liam Gallagher of Oasis, the Killers’ Brandon Flowers and Gloria Gaynor have also done songs relating to hand-washing in the last few weeks.
