Multiple Reports: Oregon State To Make Canham Head Baseball Coach

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Multiple sources have confirmed the Oregon State Beavers have hired Mitch Canham as head baseball coach.

It’s a bit of a surprise. It was expected the task of replacing the now permanently retired Pat Casey would go to either interim head coach Pat Bailey or pitching coach Nate Yeskie.

Instead, the school turns to the past. The 34-year-old was a catcher on the 2006 and 2007 teams that won back-to-back College World Series championships.

He’s currently the manager for the Arkansas Travelers, a Double-A minor league affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
