Missing Mushroom Hunter Found On Mt. Hood

Mt. Hood, Or. – Searchers have found an 80 year old Tigard woman who went mushroom picking near Trillium Lake Thursday and never returned to her car. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says they found Akemi Takahashi about a third of a mile from her car. She had a whistle with her. Searchers heard the sound and were able to locate her.

She will be taken to a hospital to be evaluated since she spent the night out in the elements. She is an experienced mushroom hunter and was hunting with a friend who called the sheriff’s office when she failed to return to her car late Thursday afternoon.
