Mariah Carey will receive the ICON Award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, and will also perform a medley of her greatest hits.
The singer, who last performed on the BBMA stage in 2015, becomes one of only seven artists to receive the coveted award. Janet Jackson received it last year.
“Thank you so much @billboard @BBMAs. See you May 1st!” Mariah tweeted, along with a series of celebratory emojis.
Kelly Clarkson, who’s hosting the show, is also among the list of performers on the telecast, along with Lauren Daigle, Khalid, Panic! at the Disco and Sam Smith and Normani.
The Billboard Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas May 1 on NBC. Cardi B leads the all nominees with a whopping 21 nominations.
