Man Dies After Slipping Over Waterfall

MONROE, Wash. (AP) – A Washington state man has died after falling off a waterfall in Snohomish County.

KOMO-TV reports that 26-year-old Michael S. Guzman of Monroe slipped and fell over Cedar Ponds waterfall on Saturday.

Snohomish County deputies say Guzman was with a second person when they both ended up in the water.

Authorities say the other person was able to swim to safety, but Guzman had suffered a severe head injury and was unconscious.

Authorities say Guzman was pulled from the waters about an hour later and rushed to Evergreen Health Hospital in Monroe.

Authorities say Guzman later died from his injuries.

County authorities say this is the third drowning death at these falls in the last year.
