Man Dead After Stabbing In Old Town
Portland, Ore – On Friday, January 12, 2024, at 8:05 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a man with apparent stab wounds on Northwest Naito Parkway near Northwest Everett Street. Upon arrival, officers found a victim with serious injuries. Private security officers administered trauma first aid, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) took over patient care. Despite efforts to save the victim, an adult male, he was transported to the hospital by ambulance and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect or suspects had fled the scene before the police were notified, and no arrests have been made. Currently, no suspect information is available for release.
The Portland Police Bureau Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident. As part of the investigation, Northwest Naito Parkway is closed in both directions to all traffic between Northwest Davis Street and Northwest Ironside Terrace. The ramp to the Steel Bridge from northbound Naito Parkway is closed, but drivers can access the Steel Bridge from the ramp at Northwest Everett Street at Northwest First Avenue. Pedestrian access to the Steel Bridge from Tom McCall Waterfront Park remains open.
