Leonardo DiCaprio rescues man who fell overboard from cruise ship
Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — A man who drunkenly fell overboard during a cruise, which prompted an hours-long rescue mission, is thankfully alive after being rescued by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Oscar winner was vacationing with girlfriend Camila Morrone and friends in the Caribbean when they overheard the emergency call on December 30.
A source revealed to People that “Leo and his friends and their boat captain decided to join the search and their efforts resulted in helping save a man’s life. The boat crew were happy to try and assist — even more so that they were able to help get the man to safety.”
Apparently, the unidentified man fell off a Club Med yacht and had been treading water for 11 hours. He was rescued in the rough waters in the nick of time as sunset was approaching, as was a severe rainstorm.
That said, the entire ordeal sounds like it could make a pretty incredible Hollywood blockbuster… if Leo agrees to play himself, that is.
