Jimmy Fallon is using his platform to encourage Americans to support first responders and each other–by playing the cowbell. Page Six reports the late night host shared his idea for the “Cowbell Challenge” on Thursday’s edition of TODAY. As the country struggles to fight the spread of the coronavirus, Fallon is asking people to open their windows at 3 P.M. on Friday and bang on a cowbell or pots and pans to show their support for each other.

During his show’s shutdown, Fallon has been hosting The Tonight Show: At-Home Edition from his family home–complete with his daughters and dog climbing on him and running around. He said on TODAY, “Make some noise and tell this virus to get away from us, we don’t want you. Let’s make some noise.” Fallon famously starred in the “More Cowbell” sketch on SNL. Meanwhile, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are doing their part to help out during the pandemic as well, as People reports the couple has donated $1 million to aid in coronavirus relief efforts.
