Ground Broken For A New Bike Pedestrian Bridge

PORTLAND, Ore.– Ground was broken today for  what will be the brand  new Earl Blumenauer Bicycle Pedestrian Bridge.  Named after the congressman because of his continued support for transportation projects.  the bridge will cross over the top of I-84 from Lloyd Blvd. to S.E. 7th Avenue.  It will tie the Lloyd business District to the Central  Eastside.

Congressman Blumenauer  says, “The New Bridge is something former Mayor Bud Clark would have loved having around 30 years ago.”

The bridge should be ready for use in 20-21.
