Gibson Due In Court
Portland, Or. – The leader of the right wing group, Patriot Prayer is due in a Justice Center courtroom this morning on a riot charge. The charge is in connection with a fight outside the Cider Riot bar on May Day.
A Facebook page called Court Date for Joey Gibson has been created. It calls on members to show up at the courthouse to support Gibson and bring signs and flags. The post says Gibson plans to be on the courthouse steps at 9:20 a.m. this morning.
The post says “Let’s show the corrupt city of Portland that The Felony Class C charge for Rioting against him should be thrown out, as the warrant and the arrest appear to be unlawful! We need anyone who believes in the law and the 1st Amendment to come show your support.”
Gibson turned himself in on Friday. He then took part in one of two protests downtown on Saturday.
