What do Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha and Rita Ora all have in common with “Sweet but Psycho” singer Ava Max? All their parents are Albanian — and Ava thinks that musical talent must be in their blood.
“My whole family is pretty talented, I feel like,” Ava tells ABC Radio. “My grandpa, he was a comedian onstage back in Albania, he sang. My grandma used to sing. I feel like it’s in our blood!”
“I’m not even kidding you, I think that’s what it is!” she laughs. “Like, back in Albania, all my cousins sing, they play the drums, they play guitar, it’s like…a thing!”
Following the success of “Sweet but Psycho,” Ava is dropping a new single, “So Am I,” today. She’s been asking fans to send in photos of themselves posting with the words “So Am I” written on their palms.
“I never was one to wanna fit in. Show the world what makes you different. You’re perfect the way you are. So Am I,” she tweeted.
“I want YOUR help to spread this message for my next single,” she added. “Everybody is different and everybody is unique. Love yourself. What makes you different?”
