Denzel Washington Confirms “Black Panther 3” And Teases Retirement
Denzel Washington dropped a couple of juicy tidbits during an interview with the Today Show Australia! 1) That there will be a “Black Panther 3” and he’s in it and 2) that will be one of his last movie.
“Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther,” he said. “After that, I’m going to do the film ‘Othello,’ After that, I’m going to do King Lear. After that, I’m going to retire.”
Here’s why that first juicy tidbit is juicy…. Marvel has not officially confirmed the third Black Panther movie yet. But here’s another fun fact connection to the franchise and Washington: original star Chadwick Boseman revealed before his death in 2020 that Washington once paid his acting school dues for a summer and thus: “There is no Black Panther without Denzel Washington.”
Catch Washington next starring in Gladiator II, set to premiere on November 22nd.
