Confirmed Cases Of The Measles In Clark County Jumps To 62
UPDATE – Clark County Public Health says they’ve now confirmed a 62nd case of the Measles. They’ve also added another location of possible exposure:
Fred Meyer, 401 NW 12th Ave., Battle Ground from 3:30 to 10 pm Wednesday, Feb. 13.
VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – Clark County Public Health has not identified any new measles cases or new exposure locations in its ongoing outbreak investigation.
Public Health spokeswoman Marissa Armstrong released a statement Monday saying the number of cases of the highly contagious viral illness remains 61.
Clark County, in southwestern Washington, has been the epicenter of the outbreak that began on Dec. 31, 2018.
Of the 61 cases confirmed in Clark County, 54 were not immunized against measles. Immunization status couldn’t be verified for five cases, and two cases involved a child who had received only a single dose of the MMR vaccine.
The majority of confirmed Clark County cases – 44 – involve children between the ages of 1 and 10.
