Bruno Mars is the latest celebrity to weigh in on the tragic murder of Nipsey Hussle, who was gunned down March 31 in front of his clothing store in L.A. A memorial service for the slain rapper is now underway at L.A.’s Staples Center, and Bruno was moved to post a statement on Twitter sharing his thoughts.
Using the hashtag #CelebrationOfNipseyHussle, Bruno wrote, “If this tragic story can teach anything, it’s [to] look at the love you receive when you lead with positivity. You can’t take money or fame with you when you leave this earth. All you have is your legacy and Nipsey will always be remembered as a leader.”
Bruno continued, “In a time where saying some outlandish disrespectful s**t can get you some headlines, this man was putting in hard work and dedication to his craft and never taking the easy way out. More importantly, his actions did all the talking.”
Referring to Hussle’s standing as a pillar of his community who spent much of his time giving back, the pop superstar concluded, “RIP Saint Nipsey. Love and prayers to your beautiful family.”
Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was 33 and had two children.
