Ariana Apologizes For Crying Onstage: “Thanks For Accepting My Humanness”

Monday, March 25 was the six-year anniversary of the release of “The Way,” the first song Ariana Grande recorded with her late former boyfriend, Mac Miller. On her Instagram Story earlier in the day, she wrote the phrase “Six years,” so it’s no surprise she was feeling a little emotional at her concert last night in Washington, D.C.

Many fans posted footage of Ariana crying and being choked up onstage during a few numbers, including “thank u, next.”

After the show, Ari took to Twitter, writing, “thanks for accepting my humanness. it’s super emo and difficult singing some of these songs. but you make me smile…i love u and thanks. i feel your warmth up there and it helps and is greatly appreciated.”

At the same concert, Ariana’s frequent collaborator and friend Victoria Monet marked the fact that “7 Rings,” which she co-wrote, had racked up a seventh week on top of the Billboard Hot 100 by performing an unreleased song called “She Got Her Own.”

According to Billboard, Ari had first teased the song on Snapchat in 2016.

“Most fun way to celebrate a 7th week at number 1 you’re A LEGEND on and off stage I love you,” wrote Victoria afterwards.

“i know you’re all going to spam us with ‘DROP IT NOW’ but there’s a plan!” Ariana told fans on Insta in reference to the song. “We promise. patience. oh and we made another one this trip too. you’ll get that one too. at some point.”
