Alcohol Sales Surged 55% Last Week Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
Alcohol sales skyrocketed across the U.S. last week as millions of Americans were forced to stay home to stop the spread of the coronavirus, The Daily Beast reports.
Sales were up a whopping 55 percent compared to the same week in 2019. Hard alcohol like tequila and gin, as well as pre-mixed cocktails, were up 75 percent, while wine was up 66 percent and beer sales up 42 percent. Online alcohol sales also rose 243 percent over last year.
