Country duo Dan + Shay, now climbing the pop charts with their hit “Tequila,” can count Charlie Puth among their fans…and who knows? The two acts may even collaborate one day.

“Wow I hate being late on songs because I just heard tequila by dan & shay for the first time…” Charlie tweeted on Wednesday, adding, “this is absolutely incredible.”

Dan + Shay responded, writing, “dude, means a lot coming from you! thank you for the shout. we f****** fanboy for your music daily. let’s write.”

“Tequila” topped the country charts for multiple weeks before becoming a pop hit.

In other Dan + Shay news, they’ll be heading out on tour with summer with another country duo that knows a thing or two about scoring pop hits: “Meant to Be” and “Cruise” hitmakers Florida Georgia Line.
