CAT Adoption Team needs your help
The Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood needs you! It has been a devastating
month for the shelter and for the adorable cats. First on April 9th a huge
flood broke through the shelter building causing damage to over 60% of the
building and about $133,000 in damage. While the building is waiting to
undergo repairs, the shelter had to borrow a Mobile Spray/ Neuter Trailer that
is on loan from Multnomah County. During a string of break-ins the trailer was
hit causing damage and having a lap top and a small cylinder of isoflurane,
which is used as an inhaled anesthetic during surgery stolen. The damage and stolen items are going to be at
least $2,000 to replace.
The great people and pets at the shelter have had a bad
string of bad luck and can use some help. Luckily none of the cats were harmed
during the flooding or break in but 32 of the 64 adoption cages in the main
area had to be closed due to the damaged floor, so many of the adorable and adoptable
cats had to be moved into other areas or the mobile adoption center.
These sweet cats deserve a great home and until they find one they at least need the shelter fixed.
Please consider making a special gift to CAT’s Flood Relief Fund so the
shelter can get back to doing what they do best – caring for and treating cats.
